The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) has awarded $850,000in its first round of 2012 grants to AIDS United, The NAMES Project and theSERO Project, according to an EJAF statement. AIDS United received $700,000 toincrease access to care and to support HIV programming in 10 U.S. locations;the NAMES Project received $100,000 to help display the AIDS Memorial Quilt at morethan 50 venues in Washington, DC, during the XIX International AIDS Conferencethis summer; and the SERO Project received $50,000 to continue its workdocumenting the ways HIV criminalization laws negatively affect people.
