Gay and bisexual men are sometimes neglected and discriminated against by the United Kingdom’s National Health Services (NHS), according to a Stonewall study and reported by The Guardian. About 7,000 men were surveyed. Nearly a third of respondents had never had an HIV test, and more than half had never discussed HIV with a health care professional. The survey states that lack of faith in confidentiality systems, inadequate opportunities for discussion, and solely focusing on the patient’s sexual orientation account for the negative experiences with health care services.
