Seven groups in Africa that work with men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people have been awarded HIV-related grants from amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, according to an amfAR statement. Each organization will receive $10,000 to $20,000 to fund HIV prevention, testing, treatment and advocacy efforts. Most of the groups are based in countries where same-sex sexual relations, especially among men, are illegal.
