The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has shut down 1,677 sites for selling counterfeit or substandard medications, CNN reports. Some of the sites also were closed for selling drugs without appropriate safeguards. Other sites were only given warnings. Officials arrested 58 people and seized illegal meds worth more than $41 million. According to Interpol, the operation involved the help of more than 100 countries.
