The Lower Manhattan offices of God’s Love We Deliver (GLWD) are still without power after Hurricane Sandy, according to a statement by GLWD, which alleviates hunger and malnutrition for people with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses. GLWD cannot yet deliver meals to its clients, but it has donated the frozen meals it had on hand to the New York City Office of Emergency Management for distribution to shelters. GLWD also has asked its staff and volunteers to make “Sandy Bags” with tuna fish, oatmeal and granola bars for its clients, which they hope to deliver starting November 1.
