The New Jersey Women and AIDS Network (NJWAN) has merged with the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation, according to a joint statement. Prior to the merger, Hyacinth already was the largest AIDS service organization in the state. Kathy Ahearn-O-Brien, the current Hyacinth executive director, will continue to lead the merged nonprofit group. Deloris Dockrey, the current Hyacinth director of community organizing, will lead the initiatives merged from NJWAN. The initiatives include an intervention that builds social skills for adult women living with HIV and a sexual education program for adolescent African-American females and males.
