By a wide margin, Massachusetts voters approved medical marijuana, Massive.com reports. However, voters narrowly defeated medical marijuana in Arkansas, The Associated Press reports. The Massachusetts ballot measure passed by a 2 to 1 margin with 63 percent in favor of it. In Arkansas, about 51 percent opposed the measure. Despite their failure, Arkansas advocates were optimistic about bringing a modified measure to the voters soon. They’re considering removing a provision to allow patients to grow marijuana if they live more than five miles from a dispensary. Arkansas would have been the first state in the South to legalize medical marijuana.
