Tempted to get some Zs at your desk? Don’t say we told you to, but go ahead and take a 20-minute power nap; your boss and coworkers may be doing the same.
Thirty-four percent of Americans indulge in snoozing during a typical day, according to the latest Pew Research Center Social & Demographic Trends survey, which was reported on in the Los Angeles Times.
Maybe we like to indulge in a quick snooze because, as the National Sleep Foundation found, power napping for about 20 to 30 minutes can “improve mood, alertness and performance.”
No surprise that people who reported having trouble sleeping the previous night (41 percent) were more likely to nap than those who said they slept well (32 percent).
