A $5 million fund from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) will address violence against girls and boys—particularly sexual violence against girls, according to a U.S. Department of State (DOS) announcement. The money goes to Together for Girls, a partnership between public, private, U.N. and U.S. agencies that address violence against children. Specifically, the funding will help governments collect data and surveys on the issue and create programs and advocacy to address the problem.
