I’m excited. I’m about to take my brand to the masses with my new cooking, talk and travel show! Right now, I’m shooting the final episodes of Conversations in the Kitchen. What do you think of that name? The show will feature some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports, business and politics.
The program will be based in Jamaica and spotlight high-profile personalities from throughout many of the surrounding islands. The best way I can describe Conversations in the Kitchen is to say the show will be like Oprah meets food and travel. Conversations in the Kitchen ail go into the homes and share the lives of people we all see and love, but who we may not know on a personal level. That’s where I’ll spend a few hours and then cook these folks a healthy meal.
Currently, we’ve shot segments that feature Bob Marley’s son Rohan Marley, Carrot Jarrett from the legendary group Third World, Thalia Lyn owner of Island Grill chain of restaurants and Chef Ravi Anne of the Jewel Hotels in Jamaica. No doubt about it, the best conversations happen in the kitchen!
The show will air in four islands and then will expand to Canada, the United States and parts of Europe. Another reason I’m excited is because of the travel and tourism aspect of the show. I like to think of this as an opportunity to sink my fork into the travel market. The show’s focus on the Caribbean will show that ’Brand Jamaica’ is powerful. Besides the program’s focus on good food and delicious dishes, we hope to allow the millions of people around the world who love the islands to take a look into its amazing people.
