In the spring, the entrepreneur and Shark Tank star revealed that he was previously diagnosed with stage 2 thyroid cancer. John credits an executive physical that he underwent at the suggestion of a friend with getting him into treatment early enough to beat the disease. Although the extensive physical checkup isn’t covered by insurance, John says the exam was worth the cost. He advises everyone to get screening tests in order to prevent major and minor illnesses.
