MASH prevalence is increasing in the United States.

It is estimated that around 25% to 30% of American adults have MASLD, and about 5% have progressed to MASH. The prevalence of MASLD and MASH is increasing among adults, and it is also becoming more common among children and teens. A majority of people with MASLD or MASH have obesity and other metabolic problems, but lean people can also get fatty liver disease.
