U.S. Representative Barbara Lee (D–Calif.) and U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D–N.J.) have introduced a bill to expand comprehensive sex education in schools, according to a statement by Lee. The Real Education for Healthy Youth Act of 2013 would expand comprehensive sex education programs in schools and ensure that federal funds are spent on effective, age-appropriate and medically accurate programs. They introduced a similar bill to Congress in 2011.
