Zoleka Mandela

The granddaughter of Nelson Mandela was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer in 2012 at age 32. She underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy but was diagnosed with the disease again in 2016. She has become a vocal advocate for cancer awareness and prevention in South Africa, sharing her story and encouraging women to prioritize their health and break the stigma surrounding cancer in her country. She founded the Zoleka Mandela Foundation to raise awareness about cancer and provide support to those affected by the disease.

Last year, Mandela announced that the cancer had spread, or metastasized, to the bone. She is currently documenting her journey and treatment on her YouTube channel.
